alice bakery & cafe: unreliable, unprofessional.
i am a strong supporter of local businesses. in return, i would expect that the local business would support me. alice bakery did not.
i ordered a large custom decorated cake to serve approx. 50 people for an affair on the last saturday before christmas. this cake was to be the centerpiece of the affair. i arrived at the bakery to pick up the cake at the pre determined time. after frantically searching for the cake and not finding it, the girl at the counter called the owner. she then reported to me that the owner informed her that the decorator had called out sick and therefore the cake did not get made. as my panic began to set in, i asked her what was i supposed to do, i had 50 people arriving for a party in 2 hours! all she did was flatly apologize. a professional business would have somehow tried to remedy the situation. i understand life happens and plans can go awry, but this was a big party weekend! did they really not have a back up plan? at least call me and inform me instead of waiting for me to pick up the cake that was never made? what about trying to somehow rectify the situation?! no offer of assistance was presented. so off to wegmans i ran and ended up with a generic sheet cake instead of my centerpiece custom decorated cake.
from now on, i stick with bredenbeck’s in chestnut hill. they have never let me down.

i love, love, love alice. i've consumed enough bread and pastries in france to develop a very high standard for such things, and the pain au chocolat at alice is amazing. their baguette is top notch as well. some other favorites include the gouda bread and french onion soup. seriously, stop reading this review and make a plan to get to alice asap.

this place is the best! the place is very cozy and they have nice music, the waiters are super nice. the food is delicious, the portions are just perfect:) and the strawberry white chocolate is amazing

soup at alice's bakery. i just finished eating their tomato basil soup--amazing!! it was especially good with the equally amazing freshly baked bagette i had with it. alice's bakery is a priceless gem here in north wales...you should be sure to check it out!

great addition to north wales. i am so glad this bakery opened in north wales walking distance from my home. order baguette in advance (they run out quickly) and the day-old selection is always the best. in the mood for a cupcake? try the opera or the peanut butter.

incredible stuff. order two dozen sticky buns in advance...you'll come close to weeping when you taste these things. you will quietly lament the moment you eat the last one.

the owner, dennis, is very nice and accommodating.

love it!!!. i used to work with dennis a short while ago, so when i found out he had finally opened his own bakery i had to give it a try. being in the culinary field myself, i am usually very picky and not easily impressed.

boy did i leave impressed!!! i purchased a sampling of this and that and loved everything!!! the best sticky buns that my wife and i had ever had which is a staple for us on sundays with a hot cup of izzy coffee. we also loved his banana chip muffin, focaccia bread, crusty french baguette, peppermint bark, and amazing homemade chocolate candies.

i know dennis will do well because he's a hands on kind of guy with a welcoming personality. i can't wait til my birthday in august because i requested that my wife get me a cake from abc.

love it. walk in the door .. see the cases full of made on the premises chocolates , danish, cupcakes, butter cake, crumb cake, muffins, crouisants, torts, cookies, apple pie, to die for sticky buns and way more than i can remember. special cakes.the breads are fabulous. have a cup of coffee or a special tea, sit and enjoy. dennis, his wife kara, melissa and amber will answer your questions, engage you in fun conversation. awesome !!
