better than my mama. alfredos is where we go when we just can't cook one more day. its super italian delicacies that put my mama's attempts at homemade italian food to shame. we have never been disappointed and go back time and time again. bring your finest wine and get ready for food to match. south philly fuhgettaboudit!

love this byob!. been here many times, and always consistant, affordable, and warm inviting atmosphere. we started with the fresh oysters on the half shell, the app special of the night, and the burratta with beets, both were excellent, the halibut was my entrée, and the hubby had the paccheri with short rib pasta, with were delish. we finished off with fig gelato, and hot donuts. highly recommend this place!

best italian on the main line. i've been going to alfredo's since it opened. they are by far the best italian on the main line. love there branzino, burratta, and hot fresh donuts with salted caramel.

service is always warm and friendly and the owners are always checking every detail. they don't charge a corckage fee, and the prices are fantastic!

awful !. took a friend to celebrate a big birthday at alfredo's on a thursday night.
the service was bad - the waiter acted as if he were doing us a favor - couldn't even manage to get water on the table for 8 even though 3 arrived early and there were 8 chairs.no one managed to check back with the table after the food was served nor said thank you for coming after the check was paid (we did leave a more than generous tip of 20% given the service we received). portions were small & the acoustics in the restaurant are terrible. we were "reprimanded" for being too loud by one of the wait staff - we were just trying to talk to each other. never again !

very disappointed. service was awful, food was mediocre at best. we waited over an hour for our entrees and when they finally came, my order was incorrect. the don't accept amex either. don't waist your time or money. try giuseppe's in newtown square.

nothing does more justice to a restaurant than a great photograph. food is made to be captured in an image…. especially food from this kitchen...

i received an unsolicited email to visit alfredo's for valentine's day and after looking at the website and reviews online i thought it was a good shot so i booked a reservation online directly from the email invitation. we had a 6:00 pm reservation and arrived about 30 minutes early. that worked out well as we found a parking space behind the restaurant (parking is very limited). it would have been nice if there was a sign on the back door so we knew how to enter the restaurant.
we were the first customers so we were seated right away. we brought a bottle of red and white. the server brought over the menus and opened the wine for us. she didn't pour it, which i thought was strange, even stranger as i noticed during the evening, other servers were pouring the wine.
next we looked at the menus which i had looked at online when i booked the reservation. to my surprise it was a valentine's day limited menu. that was never mentioned during the reservatoion process. fortunately there was enough choice but it was $50 per person. i have no problem spending that kind of money for dinner, especially on a special evening but i thought it was a bit deceitful. we saw two tables near us both walk out when they realized this deal.
the food was very good, not exceptional, but very good. the "deal" also included a glass of perseco for each of us to toast the day. we were never served nor offered it. when we ordered dessert we asked if we could have it with dessert. the desserts were excellent. fresh and delicious!
if the service hadn't been so poor (i had to ask 3 people for water) and the surprise menu had been shared when they sent me the invitation, i would have a better opinion of this place.
there's plenty of great restaurants in the area so i doubt we'll go back there again.

i know i can be picky, and sometimes i expect too much. if the service and the noise at alfredo wasn't so bad, then perhaps my review would be better. alfredo tries hard to be a good neighborhood italian byob, and with better service and noise control, it may hit the mark.

simply the best!!!. great value for this oustanding minimalistic decor,exellent food and variety.we were sooooo impressed by the "best ever " bread, the homemade gnocchi,and dessert.the fish was so fresh and wonderfully presented,yummyy!!
can `t wait to go back.

lovely meal!. visited in early oct. food and service were exceptional. we ordered melenzane con ricotta, arrancini, gnocchi alla sorrentina, paccheri alla napoletana, chicken parmesan. server was very well-informed. will return when we are in the area again. strongly recommend this restaurant!
