alfie's pizzeria & deli

stopped here for a breakfast at the deli, based on the good reviews of the pizzeria.

was extremely disappointed with the breakfast i received. was supposed to be scrambled eggs and bacon, but what i received was some sort of scrambled eggs concoction on an oversized tasteless hash brown. definitely not worth the r75 they charge for it. there are much better options for breakfast within walking distance.

the new village is the melville of pretoria! with places like alfie's its stunning! the pizza bases are light, crisp, and the simplistic interior makes you think you are in a cute restaurant somewhere in rome! all pizzas are great! the staff are all very friendly! some dishes might be a bit pricey! but then again its quality!

a lovely place to come have some casual lunch! this new establishment in the village is right in the centre of what looks like a foodie paradise! our pizzas were great, the staff was very helpful and even without a liquor licence, the ambience allows for great enjoyment of cold ginger ale on the verandah. my only issue is nearly being chased away owing to them being fully booked, but there was literally only 1 occupied table in the whole restaurant. even after eating our pizzas no more tables had filled. this is unfortunately a sign of bad management and could cost them some business. so make a booking! other than that, great, authentic, italian pizzas!!

we came for a sunday lunch and the atmosphere in this area (hazelwood village) makes you feel as if you are somewhere in a european city. 

we were offered two focaccias on the house, which was a generous gesture to start with.
for mains we had the classico and salsiccia paninis, and honestly we expected a bit more. we felt that the ciabattas was a tad on the small side - for the price we paid. nothing wrong with the flavours and ingredients though.

we also ordered the faggotino - the rump steak calzone. this meal was a real disappointment, as the calzone contained about 4 reaps of steak - not even close to the indicated 200g on the menu.

the frutti di mare (seafood) pizza was brilliant, abundance of toppings and all round a great pizza.

the wine is reasonably priced, we found that the spirits was a bit on the expensive side. saying that, the fact that this restaurant (and the village) makes you feel that you're somewhere abroad, it's worth the price to pay.

will definitely return to alfie's for a pizza!

tried alfie's yesterday for the first time and wow!
these guys do everything right, everything is tasty and fresh and spot on!
can't even begin to describe their pizzas, you'll have to go find out for yourself!

great pizza - fresh and authentically italian. good atmosphere. the booking system can be improved as they only plan seating 2 hrs prior to the evening. good service from the staff.

spoiled for choice in this street of amazing dining experiences if it is pizza that you are wanting then alfie’s is your stop. great vibe,
we ordered pizza which if you see the price you expect the greatest pizza and did they deliver i had the prosciutto amazing, best dough which is a game changer. good gin with the meal.
if it was not for the price we would most definitely go more often.

went there for the first time for my sons birthday. the 3 kids had pizza, which was excellent. think base, super crispy. my wife had a salad which she loved. i had the lamb chops in rosemary. i wanted to love them, but they were slightly overdone and charred. however, the service was fantastic and we had a great meal. we would definitely go back there.

so this was my second time having lunch at alfie's. the first time was not great...but i thought let's give it a go.. this place has a good rep.
so today we had the porchetta panini as well as the mortadella panini... and both of them were quite poor.. the toppings were lacking..
one paper thin slice of mortadella and basically no cheese on the one.. and the other loads of roughly sliced tomato and n thin slice of porchetta rivaling the mortadella.
no ketchup for the fries or even mayo...
our waitress was good and the bread before the meal was great..but unfortunately not good enough to save this dining experience..
seriously disappointed.. expected much that unfortunately never delivered..

we stopped here with friends for an evening of drinks and desserts. very friendly waitstaff and the chocolate milkshake comes highly recommended! be sure to indulge and order a dessert - any dessert - and make it a cheat meal to remebver.

best pizza in town the bread before you get your meal is to die for .

the food was great, the waitress was friendly and the service was fast. we wait only about 15 minutes for our food and the background music just created a really chilled vibe. this was really a good choice for a sunday lunch!

such a cool vibe here at alfie’s. situated in the heart of the village , the pizza was a little bit bland for what you pay but overall a nice place

alfies never disappoints a pizza lover. the marinara focaccia is a must to start and from there it only gets better! would recommend the four cheese and for dessert choc cake and panna cotta are favorites.
