8 chicken beer

recently revisited this nearby workplace eatery for a quick early dinner.
even though we arrived early @ 05:30pm, there was already a table being occupied.
we noticed that there were new faces running the show again so we suspected that it was again under a new management. our gut feeling was further enhanced due to the new menu.
after perused the menu, we decided to have something different this time. we ordered the corn cheese, mozzarella sticks, giblets and an old school bento.
all dishes were interesting; particular the mozzarella sticks, which was crispy outside and soft and tasteful inside. bento was average as we had some nice one somewhere else before. other than that it was still a decent experience.

i liked the honey butter chicken a lot, staff seemed really friendly and overall the food was nice and the environment was chill

ok let me just say i loveee korean food and fried chicken so much that i’ve tried nearly every shop in brisbane and i have come to the conclusion that this is my all time favourite/go to i’ve been going here for years but lemme explain why it’s my favourite:

- the staff are so friendly. i came here the other day and the lovely lady at the register told me that it was under a new owner (i’m assuming it was her) the previous owners were also welcoming and nice. i’ve been to places like seoul bistro, momo chicken and found that their staff had a very “i don’t want to be here” attitude and didn’t really find them polite. however, here it seems to be a family or friend business which is why i think they’re so friendly. one of the young man working in the kitchen was very polite and asked us about our day and what we’d been up to he even held the door open for us when leaving.

- the food. the chicken is always good here the recipe hasn’t changed with the new owners maybe even better and crispier chicken. my partner and i came at quite a busy time (thursday night) so our order did take a while but they gave us free chips and drinks and apologised for the wait. i would definitely recommend the the honey butter chicken as it’s something different that other restaurants don’t have. another dish i would recommend is the cheesy chicken katsu! the cheese just oozes out when you slice it and it tastes amazing.

- the atmosphere. cozy place pillows on seats everywhere. dim lights which i think is perfect for date nights.
i think maybe they need a bit more decoration though just to make it more lively and bright but other than that there aren’t really any negatives.

ordered on deliveroo maybe i got lucky it was delivered in 25min chicken was still abit crunchy& very juicy.

came here early saturday night, the place was empty. there was only one staff available, thus the service was rather slow. as for the place itself, the venue has both inside or indoor seatings, as well as small seating areas outside.

ordered the boneless soy sauce chicken and boneless creamy onion chicken. the portion was quite generous, but the taste was just okay. the chicken could have been crunchier in terms of texture. moreover, the creamy onion sauce taste rather bland to me.

overall, a good place to sit down and enjoy drinks with your friends, especially late at night.

chicken was alright - the special galbi flavoured one was too salty for me, and the spring onion was too stringy, mostly due to it being too thickly cut.

not a bad place to grab some korean fried chicken. chicken tasted great, only downside was the amount of chicken they gave. no value for money here so go elsewhere if that is what you are after.

being quite a fan of korean fried chicken (despite suffering so many breakouts after) i was keen to hit up most of the popular joints in brisbane to find a favourite. having read some limited reviews on 8 chicken and beer, i was curious to try it out. however given my recent diet, it required considerable reason for me to break my vow and indulge, so when a friend went through a slight life crisis, i decided that there is nothing more comforting and loving than a dish of fried chicken (any excuse to break the vow), so off we went.

small cozy little deal, great korean ballads and calm atmosphere. food is well priced and was absolutely fantastic in terms of taste. warm juicy chicken, and chips cooked to perfection. honey oozed and cascaded so beautifully off the chicken. loved every bite. however, the wait was very long. but since there was only one staff member it was forgiven. great stuff guys.

my fav spot in brisbane especially with new owners the food is crazy good i've never been disappointed i try to come here as often as i can everyone needs to try their chicken

never got a chance to rate this place but went here once for korean fried chicken since tried the surrounding fried chicken place and compare with momo chicken and chi mc, the chicken is not as crispy and juicy

very tiny servings and my chicken was raw! dam dam dam raw chicken is so so so bad!
please cook the only one thing you have on your menu properly

you know what the difference between good and great? the people! came in late one night with not much time left before close. the owner couldn't have been more inviting and hospitable with a free up-size in beer and good old chat. we had "half & half" boneless chicken which i thoroughly enjoyed. nice straight forward menu. we'll be back =)

nice little joint. super friendly owner, great fried chicken, 2l can of asahi beer, lots of complimentary snacks! ask for the extra spicy chicken (if you can handle it)
