food is just ok, service is poor. we just returned home from lunch at 168 sushi... today is a holiday, so apparently the lunch price increases, although it isn't documented anywhere. it says there's a price increase for dinner, but not lunch.
soft drinks are also charged, although the ipad order software says it's free. this doesn't sit well with me... i would have still ordered a drink if they told me it was a dollar, but charging me after saying it's free annoys me.
the food itself was just ok. i really the crab (polluk), but theirs is very watery, almost like they didn't drain it before making the dishes, which makes it not very nice. the rolls are the same way... i didn't love them! their crispy-spicy rolls haven't got any spicy on them, and are so dry to eat that you need a bucket of something to dip or drink with them to make them palatable. most everything else was overly sweet.
i ordered the general tso's chicken (which is supposed to be spicy), but it was just sickeningly sweet... there was no spice to it whatsoever.
the service was something else... it was busy, granted, but wow... we ordered our drinks, and our server placed our order, and we never saw her again. the section chief was the only one serving our table, although she was serving the table to the left (with the japanese couple), and the table to the right (with the 2 children), she completely ignored us.
the kitchen lost part of our order, even though it was electronically transmitted, somehow we had to ask for the order to be completed, and waited over 20 minutes without any food on the table for them to get it.
we finally got to desert, and ordered ice-cream and fried bananas... we got the ice cream, and it was mostly melted by the time that bananas came, almost 15 minutes later, and after asking for them twice.
the worst part of the whole process was at the checkout, i was asked how it was, and i was polite but honest with the issues. i told her that the section chief was good, but everyone else dropped the ball. i explained about the missing and late dishes, and she blamed me for not ordering correctly... what's up with that.. the order is checked by the wait staff before transmitting it, so if there's a problem, they should have told me... but the cashier says it's my fault.
the cashier argued with me that it was the one guy who did help us that was at fault for the delays, and lack of service during the meal. i explained with diminishing patience that it wasn't, and perhaps she should listen to the customer... she said that i didn't know what i was talking about.
i finally asked for my receipt and just left since what i had to say was falling on deaf ears. we won't be returning any time soon!
